Proposal for joining the Lapam project: Expo 2015 "Selezione Modena"
Lapam-Licom has started a process of aggregation and coordination of different economic businesses to attract visitors that will decide to make a stop in our territories to discover and taste local eno-gastronomic specialties. The aim of the project is to be able to offer a warm and structured welcome, so that the event will represent a real opportunity to create long-term businesses and will be also an occasion for local development. As a consequence, we are here to present Lapam's "Selezione Modena" project which will involve tourist companies, agritourisms and farm activities that are specialized in the production of typical food products such as wine, balsamic vinegar, cheese etc .. We will now briefly summerize all the previous steps:
We have organized meetings with companies that showed interest in the project and identified the main objectives of the event with them.
The trademark "Selezione Modena" has been patented with a logo that will identify and represent the group of companies that are participating to the project.
We have also settled the best aggregation model for the project by choosing a partnership agreement which also Lapam will support.
During the month of November, we have settled an agreement with the president of the "Consorzio Produttori Antiche Acetaie" (a consurtium of balsamic vinegar producers), Mario Gambigliani Zoccoli, which will allow the enterprises to use the first floor of the Consorzio to create a permanent HUB-shop window. This permanent HUB-shop window will permit to all the participants to exhibit their products for the whole duration of the Expo Milan 2015 fair.
We have also made some arrangements with the University of Modena and Reggio Emilia (Faculty of Economics), that will make one or more trainees available for the project. The trainees, which have an high level of linguistic knowledge, will ensure an adequate reception for the tourists and will also help dealing with foreign interlocutors.
We have also made contact with travel agencies and tour operators to define a set of packages for commercialization . This is the reason why we would like to involve in the HUB both companies that are willing to host tourists for guided tours and tastings of the products but also accommodation facilities that will allow the reception and overnights during the whole six months of the Expo.
